About the Global Impact Coalition:

The Global Impact Coalition (GIC) is a collaborative platform enabling the chemical industry to achieve a circular and net-zero emissions future. Incubated at the World Economic Forum, the Global Impact Coalition is led by key industry players including BASF, SABIC, Clariant, Covestro, LyondellBasell, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, Sabanci, Syensqo, Siemens Energy and SUEZ. As the industry’s first ever CEO and executive-led coalition, the GIC’s members collaborate to address challenges that cannot be effectively tackled alone. The GIC provides a cross-industry platform to co-develop and scale-up new technologies and innovative business models to reduce carbon emissions and advance circularity along the value chain.

About the opportunity:

This is an extremely unique opportunity to join a vibrant senior-level community of forward-thinkers and change-makers working to advance tangible projects to bring crucial technologies to commercialization. Guided by our CEO Advisory Board and led by our Executive Committee, the Global Impact Coalition benefits from engagement at the highest levels of some of the world’s leading companies in the chemical and related sectors. This role offers access to the teams and resources needed to develop innovative solutions to advance on the chemical industry’s net zero and circular commitments.

This is a rare opportunity for a Global Project Lead to join a dynamic and rapidly growing start-up with industry backing. In this role, you will help scope and develop tangible projects among Global Impact Coalition member companies, who represent over $200 billion in combined annual revenue. You will play a pivotal role in working closely with the Global Impact Coalition and its members to identify and lead (through a series of workshops) value chain collaboration projects that could not have been achieved by any one company alone. In this position, you will have the opportunity to attend frequent in-person meetings with the companies and working group members who develop current projects towards viable business cases during “sprint” sessions. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Annual General Meeting, which takes place in Davos every year, with the possibility to attend the GIC CEO Advisory Board.

Expected Capabilities:

  • Experience in large CAPEX projects where third-party funding/financing was a key element, and a proven track record in personally initiating and then integrating these funding discussions into actual projects.
